Criticize The Judgements Not Judges

      Justice Pushpa Ganediwala

Justice Pushpa Ganediwala of Bombay High Court Nagpur Bench tendered her resignation after the Collegium of Supreme Court did not elevate her as permanent Judge. The judgement given by justice Pushpa Ganediwala on January 15, 2021 in the case Libnus Kujur Vs State of Maharashtra was seen as much controversial and subsequently overruled by the Supreme Court. Her interpretation in the case regarding sexual assault against a minor as skin to skin was criticised widely.

When the judgements are not good, it must be criticized and discussed. But is it okay to criticize a judge personally? "To error is the human being." We shouldn't judge the capability of a judge on his/her single judgement or dicision.

When decisions are handed down, some people say they are right and some say they are wrong. These are the people's opinions and they have the right to hold them. Everyone has their own opinion and perspective, and it must be respected. If any wrong judgement is handed down, it can be challaged in superior court or be reviewed. It will be more moral if we criticize the judgement and not the judge.

War And Peace

Ukrainian Refugees Today it has been eleven days to the War on Ukraine by Russia. There is no ceasefire yet and Russian forces are marching towards the capital Kyiv. It is the invasion of a sovereign and democratic nation by Russia. Western nations failed to protect Ukraine. Over 1.4 millions Ukrainians have fled the country and took shelter in neighbouring countries such as Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany, Bulgaria and in some other European countries.  I was watching a video of one Ukrainian woman who was weeping loudly. She was saying, "Why is this war and for what? Why we are forced to leave our country, own house, brothers and parents?" Any prudent and kind person will certainly cry after watching the videos of fleeing Ukrainians. Russians are destroying their country with bombs. The world is watching this tragedy and doing nothing.  Nothing is more painful than war. Families get apart and someone lose their loved one. War destroy everything. War i...
